📅 EVENT OVERVIEW & Rules

Days 1 & 2 – QUEST CHALLENGES

Complete up to 12 unique quests, each begins with a puzzle, ends with an adventure, and rewards your curiosity. 

Each quest follows this structure:

1. Stage One: Decode the Scroll: (Stage one must be completed for any other points to count towards score)
   Solve the embedded puzzle to uncover a cryptic phrase. The phrase will subtly point you toward a specific DefCon village.

1. Points = 30
   

2. Stage two: Visit the Village:
   Once you've figured out where to go, travel to the corresponding village. Engage, ask questions, explore, and learn something meaningful.

1. Points = 30
   Don’t forget to take a photo at the village sign.
   - This will be the only way you can get your full points.

   Want extra points? Ask a village volunteer for their name and take a photo with them at the village sign.
   OG crew will spot-check names, so make sure your info holds up.

1. Stage Two Bonus: Photo with volunteer Points = 10

2. Stage Two Bonus: Volunteer’s name Points = 10
   

3. Stage Three: Report to the White Tentacle HQ
   Return with photo evidence from the village and be ready to share what you learned.

• Complete quests solo or as part of a team, it’s up to you.

• Points are awarded for each completed quest.

• Contain hidden clues tied to a secret infiltration subplot (details below).

INFILTRATOR SIDE QUEST:

Something is wrong within the Order.

Red Tentacle agents have infiltrated us. Your mission: find them—if you choose to accept it.

Some quests you receive may not come from within the true White Tentacle. These forged scrolls contain hidden clues that point toward the identities of the infiltrators.

Clues will reference villain names.

Each of these names belongs to a disguised Goon hiding in plain sight at DefCon.

Earn bonus points for: (MUST BE COMPLETED IN THIS ORDER)

1. Correctly identifying an infiltrator's name

a. Points = 20

2. Find the Goon tied to the infiltrator's name (They will be located throughout the con, happy hunting).

a. In other words, each Goon will have a specific infiltrators name linked to them

i. (Need their handle to earn points, this will be verified HINT: It’s usually on the name tag)

b. Points = 20

3. Convincing them to give you a sticker (they may test your worth first)

a. Points = 20

Look for Goons wearing a special Red Tentacle badge, they're your target, but only if you've uncovered their true name.

Be vigilant. Not every scroll is what it seems.

IMPORTANT: ALL Quest points, including bonus points, will need to be turned in by the end of day 2.

DAY 3 – FINAL SHOWDOWNDAY 3 – FINAL SHOWDOWN

If you’re still standing by Day 3, you’ve made it to the Final Showdown.

Prizes awarded immediately after the final game, by total points across all days.

PRIZES

At the end of Day 3, prizes will be awarded in order of final score:

QUEST RULES REMINDER

• Submit your village photo at OG HQ

• Be able to describe what you learned

• All photo submissions must be your own (no using friends’ photos)

TEAMING UP

Solo? Team? It’s your call.
You can:

• Complete quests alone

• Pair up with others

• Form a team and divide tasks

Just remember—points are awarded as individuals, not as teams.
